REGION’S DAMS FEEL THE PRESSURE
Low rainfall and high water usage is beginning to put pressure on the region’s dams.
In April this year both Dungowan and Chaffey dams were sitting about 98 per-cent capacity.
While Chaffey’s level has remained healthy – Dungowan Dam has dropped to 62 per-cent.
Since this time last year residents in the Tamworth region have almost doubled their water consumption – the region swallowing up to 29-megalitres a day on average.
