PORT MACQUARIE’S SHELLY BEACH ROAD TO RACE IN RANDWICK

Port Macquarie trainer Jenny Graham has been dealt a blow in the lead up to the Country Championships final at Randwick.
One of her two contending horses, Awesome Pluck, was found to have an inflammatory airways disease.
It’s forced the trainer to send the horse out for a spell.
But it’s not all doom and gloom with John Sprague’s runner Shelly Beach Road accepted as the other local representative for the decider.
The four-year-old mare and country championships winner Victorem will head to Sydney to race in the Championships final on April 7.
