The GWS Giants have turned the tables on last year’s champions, in a thrilling Super Netball clash – beating the Sunshine Coast Lightning by three points.
The Hunter’s Sam Poolman helped her side off to a strong start, causing Diamonds captain Caitlin Bassett all sorts of problems.
The Giants lead blew out to seven points towards the end of the match – but the Lightning wouldn’t give in – closing the gap.
Eventually any chance of a comeback was stopped by strong Giants defence.
