Rous Water has taken a stand against coal seam gas mining.
The Northern Rivers water authority has unanimously voted to oppose all CSG activity on its land and catchment areas.
“Part of that resolution us a request that Rous be advised of any exploration licences to give us the opportunity to try to protest against them and we will do.”
The move follows Richmond Valley, Lismore and Tweed councils’ moratoriums on CSG mining.
