Households and businesses from Taree to Minnie Water are a step closer to receiving high-speed broadband.
A representative from the NBN CO was in Coffs Harbour today, to announce plans for fixed wireless across the region.
While larger cities and towns will be hooked up to the fibre-optic network, areas with less than a thousand people will be fitted with fixed wireless connections.
Trent Williams is from NBN Co and said “It’s significantly faster than anything they’ve got at the moment and we’re able to upgrade this service so it’s going to get better and better. I think most importantly, this is going to be something that’s available very quickly. So the middle ot next year people will be able to order services over the fixed wireless program.”
