STATE GRANT TO HELP RESTORE FORESHORE

The restoration of Harrington’s foreshore is one step closer to fruition, with confirmation the state government will chip in $30,000.
Siltation and degradation of the estuary have left it shallow and with poor water quality.
Local company, Farquhar Inlet Management Group, has an ambitious plan to restore it.
It hopes to clean the lagoon with excavators, and also add picnic facilities.
The project’s estimated to cost around $100,000 in total.
