Young Australian of the Year, Marita Cheng, will arrive in Port Macquarie this week to share her inspiring story.
The University of Melbourne student is encouraging other young women to pursue a career in engineering.
She’ll be the guest speaker at a function on Friday night for the Hastings Education Fund.
Miss Cheng will also launch a new program to raise money for the fund, which assists young people in pursuing a career.
In its first year, it gave 14 students grants of up to $3,000.
