Coffs Harbour City Council is investigating the apparent poisoning of vegetation on the Jetty foreshore.
Council says it appears several trees in the area between the Yacht Club and the jetty park are dying.
The area, which has been the focus of a major tree planting project over two decades, is a popular recreation destination for locals and tourists.
Council has sent samples of the trees away for testing, but says there’s no clear motive for their destruction.
