Lismore City Council has come under attack from businesses in the CBD over claims it’s failing to provide adequate facilities for customers in the centre of town.
A meeting on Wednesday night saw retailers complain about paying almost double the rates of businesses outside the CBD, whilst missing out on basic amenities like clean toilets.
“All we want is a fair go to change our rates to be the same as everyone else. If Coles and Bunnings and Dan Murphy’s can pay 1.3636 cents to the dollar why can’t we in the CBD?”
