Long-serving police and members of the public have been recognised for exceptional service to the community.
At a special awards ceremony today, Newcastle’s top cops saluted those whose deeds have made a difference.
Some have worked on difficult and long-running investigations, while others were honoured for their calm and calculated responses in times of crisis.
The event was also Assistant Commissioner Jeff Loy’s first as the new Northern Region Commander.
