ABANDONED RAIL TAKES CENTRE STAGE

While gas campaigners were putting on a show in the Lismore CBD, down at the abandoned train tracks a performance of another kind was unravelling.
The Northern Rivers Performing Arts Group spent this morning rehearsing in its new theatre show, Railway Wonderland, which will open to audiences at the end of this month.
“NORMA? You’re here!!!”
“There’s a lot of theatre in this, there’s music and dance and song and physical theatre, it’s really a fun wonderland of styles.”
The unique show, inspired by local stories, myths and characters, will be performed for five nights on site at the Lismore railway station, which was controversially shut down by the Labour government in 2004.
