FARMER WINS LAND RIGHTS BATTLE BUT WAR NOT OVER

A blind Hunter Valley farmer has won his battle against a mining company.

NuCoal will give up its right to explore Ian Moore’s property after pressure from the New South Wales Premier.

The licence, granted by former Labor Minister, Ian MacDonald, is now being investigated by the corruption commission.

  1. this mineing should be realy looked at ,.we live in pokolbin state forest we have a wildlife refuge and wombat hospital and their drilling 10k from us !! we have not been told at all about this !! ,they have already run down a wombat and baby ,.and thats only what we know off when i handed security a card on saturday he said he didnt wont it !!! they have wrecked trees there is rubbish dumped ,where they have lunch or when they drive home through stuff out of window ,.there is also rare Rock wallabies up here and quolls koalas so puts a stop to this no one !!! is anyone came enough to say no to greed !!!!

  2. I’m very happy for the Moores. I’m also glad the corruption commission is investigating mining because the mining companies blithely do what they want and no one seems to be able to stop them. Until someone makes the government accountable to the people who elected them, not foreign mining companies, this will continue to happen. The exploration in State Forest and adjacent lands should not be allowed. Pokolbin State Forest is a delicate Eco systems and one of the few minimally touched forests in the area. The wildlife refuge and the threatened species cannot coexist with mining and it must be stopped.
