The heritage-listed Alison Homestead burnt to the ground early this morning.
This is such a huge shame, massive loss to a region which has protected so little of its built history.
Perhaps NBN could lead a drive to replace as much as possible? I’m sure there are a lot of special pieces in homes across the shire which could help rebuild in part what has been lost.
Question is though – why was such a valuable building and belongings so poorly protected? Where were the fences?
