The Singleton Chamber of Commerce has refuted claims from federal Labor MP Joel Fitzgibbon, that the town won’t be burdened by extra traffic from the Hunter Expressway.

The Singleton Chamber of Commerce has refuted claims from federal Labor MP Joel Fitzgibbon, that the town won’t be burdened by extra traffic from the Hunter Expressway.

Joel Fitzgibbon is out of touch with what is happening in the upper Hunter,.
The mines will be employing up to another 1500 workers. Most of them will travel through Singleton to get to the mines and power stations which are on the north side of Singleton.
Peak hour through traffic now travels a snails pace. Add an extra 800 or so vehicles to the mix and the problem will be much worse.
All the F3 extension will do is move the traffic jam closer to Singleton.
