Postnatal depression affects around 16 per cent of new mums.
To raise awareness of the illness, a community day called ‘Making Time for Mum’ was held in Taree today.
It coincides with national postnatal depression week and aimed to give new mums a well-deserved break.
Mums had the chance to enjoy a relaxing massage, as well as seek information and support services for postnatal depression.
