Casino’s post office will join only 43 other post offices nationwide to be placed on the Commonwealth Heritage List.
“It puts Casino on the map nationally, its a community icon and now it’s a national icon, it can be used for Casino and Richmond council’s to promote their area.”
For over a century the building has been a communication hub and meeting place for the town’s residents.
It’s inclusion on the commonwealth heritage list will ensure its protection for years to come.
“It will stay like that for generations to come and that’s awesome because it’s still the way it was initially for us and we’ve been around for a long time and we’d like to think it’ll still be there for our children and grandchildren.”
