Matt Wilkinson has finished third in his round four heat at the Rip Curl Pro in San Francisco.
The Copacabana surfer was narrowly beaten by Kieren Perrow and Taylor Knox; and will now face Brazilian Gabriel Medina for a place in the Quarters.
