Yesterday’s Melbourne cup had plenty of punters on the edge of their seats but for one Casino family, the ride was particularly nail-biting.
Locally raised Jockey, Chris Munce, joined the international elite, flying on the back of racing icon, Gai Waterhorse’s, prized horse, “Tullamore”.
Despite finishing 14th, there were plenty of celebrations at the Casino RSM for the former local.
“We had a melbourne cup luncheon here yesterday and every time his name was mentioned the crowd went a bit wild and we had fun with it.”
Chris Munce is no stranger to the big races.
He won the Melbourne cup in 1998 on New Zealand horse, Jezebeel
