They’re an important part of Australia’s history – the guns of Fort Scratchley, which exchanged fire with a Japanese sub when World War Two came to Newcastle in 1942.
Now, thanks to the dedication of volunteers, the two Mark VII guns are fully operational for the first time in almost half a century.
