Sydney FC will be without skipper Alex Brosque for another four weeks after his hamstring injury was found to be more serious than originally thought.
But the squad will welcome back Matt Simon and Ali Abbas when they take on the Newcastle Jets this Saturday.
Brosque isn’t the only player missing for Sydney, with Andrew Hoole, Alex Gersbach and Brandon O’Neill all overseas with the Olyroos.
In a further boost for the Jets, Lachlan Jackson has committed to a contract extension, while Nick Cowburn has signed his first professional deal.
