Another candidate is joining the race for the state seat of Tamworth at the March election.
Country Labor has registered Steve Mears with the New South Wales electoral commission.
Mr Mears is expected to officially launch his campaign later this month.
At this stage, the Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party has also put forward a candidate in Jeff Bacon, while sitting M-P Kevin Anderson is expected to run for the Nationals.
