LISMORE COUNCIL CALLS FOR COMMUNICATION TOWER GUIDELINES

Lismore City Council is calling on the state and federal governments to set up a list of clear guidelines relating to the installation of communication towers in residential areas.
Council says it has been lobbied hard by concerned locals who fear that towers erected in close proximity to people’s homes could have health impacts and devalue property.
“We want to write to the federal minister for communication and state minister for planning and say come on fella’s your governments need to take some responsibility.”
Council says the issue isn’t going away and that as the National Broadband Network is rolled out, the community can expect to see more of the controversial structures.
