CAMERAS READY TO BE SWITCHED ON

Cameras, aimed at slowing speeding trucks, will begin operating in the Manning Valley this week.
The devices, located on the Pacific Highway at Taree and Nabiac, will be switched on, on Friday.
They’ll measure the time it takes a heavy vehicle to travel between the two points and calculate its average speed.
If the vehicle’s average is higher than the speed limit for that stretch, the driver will be penalised.
