There’s been a win for the Aboriginal Land Council at Speers Point – the state government approving a land claim for the old Boolaroo police station.
The building has been vacant since 2017, after the new station opened at Toronto.
It’s understood the Council plans to make the building its new headquarters, saving up to $60,000 a year in rental fees.
It says the leftover money will go to community-based programs.
