SPLASH FOR CASH

It may be winter, but plenty of people took the opportunity to jump in the pool on Sunday.

Antonio Montero was one of the brave participants in the annual Splash for Cash.

The doting dad, raising money for the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children Hunter pre-school.

“There’s not a lot of awareness of it, like people know blind people and stuff like that but it’s not one of the ones people donate to all the time as much as they do other things”

Former Olympian Suzie O’Neill was also keen to raise awareness.

She jumped in the pool to race Newcastle radio personality Sarah Levett.

“As an elite athlete I always felt really quite selfish with what I chose to do, so it’s really fun now for me and rewarding to feel like I’m doing things for other people a little bit more”
