Armidale will miss out on a public holiday for the jockey club’s Cup Day next year.
Racing New South Wales has advised it’ll be run on Sunday March 4, instead of the usual Monday.
It removes an issue which has previously divided the community, about whether it be a half-day public holiday or made a local event day.
If the new day proves a success, the move may be made permanent.
