PRIZE KITTY ATTRACTS BOWLERS

A Port Macquarie team has taken out the Port City Bowling Club’s inaugural triples tournament for grade six and seven players.

The side, skippered by Bob Langham, beat another Port City trio to take the trophy, with the team from the Lake Macquarie suburb of Teralba picking up third spot.

The tournament attracted a full field of 152 players from all over the state, many drawing extra inspiration from the $20,000 prize kitty on offer.

The action on the greens came down to the wire, with the winners only decided in the final game of the three-day tournament.
