REVIEW FINDS GOSFORD COUNCIL’S RECORDS ARE WELL MANAGED

A review of Gosford Council’s operations has found it has a well-managed and robust records management system.

The review was ordered after the council was found responsible for the deaths of five people, in the collapse of the Old Pacific Highway at Somersby in 2007.

Administrator Dick Persson spent two months looking into council’s asset and record management systems.

In his report, he says he’s found no cause to recommend significant changes, only suggesting that staff members be better trained in what constitutes an official record and to make sure they forward on such information to a joint database.
