Friends of fallen digger Rowan Robinson say he loved being a soldier and serving his country.
The 23-year-old, formerly from the New South Wales far north coast, was shot and killed on Monday during a special forces operation in Afghanistan.
He was just weeks from returning home, and already planning life outside the army.
