NEW DEFIBRILLATOR TO SAVE LIVES IN BALLINA

People with heart problems in Ballina can rest a little easier knowing the local ambulance service is now equipped with the latest monitor and defibrillator.

The LIFEPAK 15 made possible from the fundraising efforts of the SCOPE club.

“We raised $11, 840 for the defibrillator and we’re so excited it’s being presented.”

The machine not only allows paramedics to monitor and restart patient’s hearts, but also transmits images to cardiologists for advice in the field.

“Will be extremely beneficial to patients throughout the community and will certainly save lives and lead to quicker recovery times”
