Claims of environmental degradation within the Munmorah Power Station site will be investigated, with Wyong Shire Council granted permission to inspect the site.
Council asked the state government to step in, after Delta Electricity refused requests to visit the station.
The company has now agreed, and an inspection will take place as early as next month.
