WEATHER UPDATE: HOT AND WINDY

September 26 2012
The next couple of days, Thursday and Friday, are going to become hot and windy thanks to strengthening NW winds creating dangerous bushfire conditions. Total fire bans could be put into place.

It is all due to a large pool of hot air over central Australia and a very strong front moving quickly across the Southern Ocean.
The change will begin to affect the Hunter and southern areas of the NW on Friday afternoon with cloud increasing. Winds will become even more gusty and as showers and storms develop. That change will sweep across the entire broadcast region during Saturday.
By Sunday the front will clear from the Hunter, NW and MNC coast with the tail of the system lingering over NE NSW and SE QLD for most of the morning.
The AFL grand final will be cold and windy with rain showers sweeping over the MCG during the match. The NRL grand final will be played under perfect conditions, cool and clear.
