Hunter-born Solicitor-General Stephen Gageler will be Australia’s next High Court judge.
Mr Gageler, who was raised in the village of Sandy Hollow, will replace William Gummow, who is retiring in October.
Attorney-General Nicola Roxon made the announcement today.
He’s the 49th appointment to the High Court.
