Traffic was diverted off the Pacific Highway for several hours yesterday, after a fuel tanker collided head on with a car at Tintenbar.
The driver of the car was trapped for more than an hour before being rushed to Lismore Base Hospital with serious injuries.
The truck driver suffered only minor injuries.
Both lanes of the highway were finally reopened this morning after the leaking tanker was safely removed.
