Police will be patrolling Dunoon Road at Modanville over the coming months to enforce the new 60-kilometre an hour speed limit.
The speed zone was reduced from 80-kilometres an hour to enhance road safety around the Primary School, general store and residences.
Speeding was a factor in more than 29 per cent of crashes in Lismore in 2009.
