An initiative that uses rugby as a social tool came to Tamworth today.
Sense Rugby has been developed by former Australian Sevens representative, now Tigers rugby league player, Jesse Parahi and his wife Carlien.
It aims to improve self-confidence and co-ordination, by reaching youngsters through sport.
“This kid, he’s never played with anyone, never socialised with anyone. He was always sat by himself in the corner at lunch time, and she actually spotted him down on the rugby field playing rugby with a few of the other kids.”
When Jesse knows his full NRL training schedule, the duo intends to take the program to Bourke.
