Newcastle Council says it will cut five middle-management positions, on top of the 11 jobs it’s already shed, as part its effort to save money.
Last night’s decision will also see the senior management positions reduced to three.
Meanwhile, an attempt to change cuts to Beresfield Pool was also unsuccessful.
The pool’s season has been reduced by eight weeks to 20, and on weekends it will close at 3pm.
