KNIGHTS MANAGEMENT SET OUT KEY TERMS FOR PRIVATISATION

Newcastle Knights management says it’s confident of striking a deal with Nathan Tinkler to buy out the club.
But says the board will seek assurances from the mining magnate on three main points.
The first is to ensure $10-million in sponsorship over 10 years.
The club says the current offer, which includes a one off payment of $3-million does not commit to a 10 year period.
The second sticking point is a fair buy back deal, if members deem that necessary at a later date.
And finally, the board will seek an iron clad assurance in relation to funding for junior development.
Off the field, the Knights are attracting plenty of attention on the recruitment front, with the Bulldogs Jamal Idris reportedly also on Newcastle’s radar for next season.
As for the current squad, they’ll now prepare for their final trial against the Sharks, following that loss to Penrith.

The loss of the Tinkler offer seems to reflect the usual result of anything that seems positive for Newcastle… the people themselves have no say or are not given the opportunity to have a say… it is as if the people of Newcastle are considered incapable of making decisions for themselves. It is so annoying that as a Novocastrian, we are being held back by “those who are the controllers”. The loss of our once beautiful city centre is yet another example of how ”
those in control” do not even consider the people’s opinions.
It is about time that those in power took notice of the voices of the people.
Maybe we should rise up like the brave people in the Arab states?
I think steve buraston and rob tew are a digrace to the newcastle people who love the only nrl team we have and they should have put the vote back to the members long before this time .The members are the one that should of had there say about the only thing good about the knights taking mr tinklers offer on board but no that didnt happen the writing was on the wall for steve and rob and that is the axe from there position so thats what they were worried about so well just string this out and see what happens .yes it happened mr tinkler wasnt prepared to wait any longer and i dont blame him he only had good for our sporting community i dont know why mr tinkler doesnt put his own team in the comp if this stupid board are to silly to see the good of this man i say sack the board as of now and let nathan take control right now if not sooner good on you nathan tinkler
