Fire crews were this afternoon trying to keep walkers and cyclists away from the Fernleigh Track near Belmont North as they battled a blaze, which has so far burnt out 20 hectares of swamp land.
Around 50 fire fighters have been at the scene for more than six hours, with the windy conditions causing problems.
It’s believed the fire started as a result of two stolen cars being torched.
