The armed forces gathered at Civic Park on Sunday to pay tribute to fallen soldiers in the Pacific War’s Battle of the Coral Sea.
Ex-service men and women commemorated the 77th anniversary of the strategic victory, which was fought on the sea and in the air.
It was the first time Australian and US armed-forces thwarted the Empire of Japan over Australian waters.
