The festive season has brought heartache for a young Black Hill family, with its home damaged by fire overnight.
The family was away on holidays when the house caught alight at around 3am.
It took fire crews from Minmi and Tarro, and a Hazmat unit from Newcastle, almost three hours to extinguish the blaze.
More than half of the home was destroyed.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
