The Roads and Traffic Authority is seeking public comment on changes to the Pacific Highway between Nambucca Heads and Urunga.
Three recent crashes on a section of highway south of Urunga in the space of six days claimed the lives of two men and seriously injured six others.
The RTA is now in the process of improving safety measures on the horror stretch and is considering the installation of wire rope barriers in the centre of the road.
Speed cameras and a lowering of the speed limit are also being considered.
The period for comments close next Tuesday.
