TWO TEENAGERS CAUGHT IN A RIP AT A NEWCASTLE BEACH

There was a near emergency in Newcastle this afternoon, when two teenage boys became trapped in a dangerous rip.

The pair was swimming at the un-patrolled Burwood Beach when they got into trouble around 3:30.

Fortunately, by the time paramedics and the Westpac Chopper arrived, the teens were back on shore.

One was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition, giving our cameras a thumbs up, to let us know he was okay.
