MACKEREL ADD WEIGHT TO EASTER CATCH

The mission of snagging the biggest catch is underway, for hundreds of competitors in Coffs Harbour’s annual Easter Fishing Classic.
While competition began under cloudy skies this morning, it’s hoped conditions will clear throughout the weekend.
“The weather’s going to improve from now on we had a start this morning nearly 40 boats entered in the dark and the strong wind warning hasn’t eventuated so it’s all good” said event organiser, Linda Jones.
And while a number of species were biting on day one – it’s mostly Mackerel that seem to be taking the bait – with many people proud of their catch.
Competitors have until Monday to reel in the big one.
