Competition was fierce on day one of the Great Lakes Dragon Boat regatta, in Forster.
While reigning champs Newcastle Marlins were pipped at the post by their Central Coast counterparts in the 2 km event, the team is hopeful they can redeem themselves in tomorrow’s sprint races.
