Man arrested following vehicle stop at Thornton
He was refused bail to appear before court

A man will appear before Maitland Local Court today after being charged following a vehicle stop at Thornton on Thursday morning.
Police from Port Stephens-Hunter Proactive Crime Team were patrolling the Thornton area around 3am when they located a vehicle allegedly displaying altered plates on Thomas Coke Drive.
A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly revealed property suspected to have been stolen during a recent break and enter at Rutherford and a small bag containing methamphetamine.
A 30-year-old man was arrested at the scene before being taken to Maitland Police Station where he was charged with possess prohibited drug, use class A vehicle displaying altered numberplate, possess vehicle part with altered/defaced etc part number, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.
He was refused bail.
