The region’s rescue helicopter service is encouraging caffeine lovers to hit local cafes, and for a cause.
The service has donated around 20 000 customised coffee cups to cafes across Lismore in a bid to encourage consumers to make a donation to the lifesaving organisation.
The coffee campaign will run for the next few days and is part of the helicopter’s major annual appeal.
“Up to 70% of the money that it costs to run the helicopter each year, to keep it running and crewed is provided by the community and sponsorship so it’s so important for us to bring that in.”
The service will wrap up its fundraising campaign with a community open day at the heli-base on Saturday.
