A Queensland council wants to keep the iconic Splendour in the Grass music festival in the Sunshine State.
Moreton Bay will soon begin talks with the organisers, as the Northern Rivers tourism industry counts the cost of a winter season without the festival.

certainly Splendour in the Grass moving to Woodford this year has been a significant loss to the Northern Rivers region.
Over the past 24 months NRT has been actively vocal in supporting Splendour in the Grass and we enjoy a great relationship with the event organisers and North Byron Shire Parklands site owners. The event’s DA approval was overturned by a small but vocal group of ‘concerned residents’ in Ocean Shores, much to the dismay of a lot of members of the Byron shire and wider Northern Rivers region.
