Following a few years in her family-run, self-funded team, Warners Bay’s Charlotte Poynting heads to Phillip Island this week for the Aussie Racing Cars series, having earned a full-team drive with Western Sydney Motorsport.
“A lot more testing with the team is helping out and just having the extra hands. If unfortunately I have a crash there’s five more guys to jump on board than there was when it was just dad and I.”
Unfortunately the series won’t return to Newcastle this year.
“Myself however I’m trying to secure a seat in something else. At this stage I’ll be racing in Newcastle we just don’t know what in yet.”
