WEATHER UPDATE: WINTER’S BACK

A cold polar blast that produced snow outside of Melbourne is moving in across the region tonight. It is set to drop temperatures but no rain or snow is likely.

Only the coastal fringe from Newcastle to Forster will catch a shower or two. Seas and swell will increase so off shore boating not recommended. Surfers will have to search out the southern protected corners.

Inland frosts will return as overnight temperatures will plummet in the coming days making for severe morning frosts. Coastal showers will extend north from Sunday.
